How the Test Works

The way your bandwidth is calculated can best be represented by using the following equation:

Where the payload is a 3764 KB (3.67 MB) file, the start time is the time that the test was started, the end time is when the test was completed.

Your web browser requests the speed test page from CableAmerica's web server
The web page instructs your browser to record the "start time"
The payload file is then downloaded from the speed test server
As soon as the download is done the "end time" is recorded
The speed is calculated and sent to the this webpage displaying the results

CableAmerica's Test Server

CableAmerica's test servers are located in Maryland Heights and Waynesville Missouri. This test is intended for CableAmerica Broadband Subscribers connected to our network. Running this test outside of CableAmerica's network may affect the accuracy of the results.
